College students are expected to adhere to certain standards of classroom etiquette. That is, the manner in which students should act when class is in session. The extent of participation in classroom discussion, reading assignments, and homework/papers will be established by the individual instructor. To that end:

  • Please be courteous and considerate of the students who are taking the class for credit.
  • Do not bring guests to attend classes with you.
  • Be Respectful: be on time and stay the entire class. It is disruptive to be late.
  • Address the professor correctly: learn the professor’s name so that you can ask a question or address them when needed.
  • Turn off your cell p磨练: or set it to silent/vibrate so that it does not make any sound during the class. Also, never answer a p磨练 call during class.
  • Do not pack up before class ends: this can be distracting 到 professor and students trying to listen 到 end of the lecture.
  • Raise your hand to ask a question or make a comment.
  • Ask the instructor before using technology such as cell p磨练s, laptops, and recording devices.

If you are not sure what is acceptable in the classroom, ask the instructor what their preference is.
